About a Year Ago

It was about a year ago that this book was ready for me to mail out autographed copies to young readers. I had just had a shoulder replacement, was wearing a stylish sling, and started stuffing envelopes. This book took me a long time to finish. I started it several years ago and got stuck. I had several titles that didn't seem to work, so I put Little Honker in a folder and it sat rather uncomfortably until I could figure out what to do with him. then I recalled my days in Cheyenne. Frontier Days had free breakfasts, parades, concerts and more. "let's put that idea into the book. Then we had a polydactyl neighborhood cat who loved to hand out on our deck and front porch. Purrfect! I decided he should play the bongos in the band and I was off with the latest tale. The book launch was to be about Memorial Day, so a little reminder of that time now is perfect.
